Betty Jean Kirton Crawford, passed away at her home 11/26/2020 at the age of 85 after a battle with cancer. She was born 4/4/1935 in Charleston SC to Arnold and Clara Mathis Judy. Service will be held 10am at the Stringer Funeral Home in Crystal Springs on Thursday December 3rd and visitation will be Wednesday from 5 to 8 pm. Interment will be at Terry City Cemetery, Terry, MS. She married Samuel M Kirton in 1956 in Charleston. He preceded her in death as well as her parents; brother, Theodore (Teddy) Judy; daughter Judy Weidick; sons Buddy Crawford and Jerry Crawford. She married Harold Crawford in 1997 in Crystal Springs. He survives along with three sons, Samuel (Sam) M Kirton and wife Susan of Mineral Virginia, Mark Kirton of Wesson, and M. Wayne Kirton and wife Vickie of Hockley Texas; step-son, Michael Crawford of Atlanta GA; son-in-law, Mike Weidick of Jackson; grandchildren, Christopher Kirton of Dearborn, MI, Heather Stroud of Dearborn, MI, Tim Kirton of Byram, Sheryl Lynn Nelson of Liberty, Audrey Carruthers Lake of St Louis MO, Julie Keane of St. Louis MO, Samantha Kirton of Houston TX, Tristian Jones of Wesson, Madison Lowery of Wesson, Destini Jones of Wesson; Rachel Bollinger of Houston, TX, and Jody Weidick of Jackson; and 11 Great Grandchildren Mrs. Crawford went to high school in North Charleston and later to business school. She was a member of Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Terry. She retired from America Public Life insurance in 1993 and later worked for JobMate and Britches & Boots. Mama loved her church and never met a stranger. She loved her family and simply adored children. She has always been there for her children. In High School this quote by school mates “Everything that comes her way is taken care of by lil ole Judy” was how she lived to her last days. Pallbearers will be Connor Lowery, Rodney Beard, Greg Hardy, Chris Griffin, Montey Campbell, Mike Nunnery and Danny McDavid. Mrs. Crawford loved flowers but she loved these charities as well as her church.
