Madera White Wilson, 95, passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2021, in Atlanta, Georgia, where she had lived for the last four months. Prior to this move she lived in Clinton MS for 25 years. She was born in Minter City, MS on September 20, 1925, the daughter of W. Hilary White and Mavour Neen White. Madera was the widow of L. Harold WIlson. Both were reared and educated in Mississippi, a state they loved. After graduating from Copiah Lincoln Jr. College, she began her work career in Jackson, retiring from the Veterans Administration after 25 years. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening and especially quilting. She read her Bible and devotionals daily and remained a member of First United Methodist Church in Clinton. Madera loved her family! She is survived by 3 daughters; Hilary Irussi (Peter), Vicki W. Bond (Ronald), and Elizabeth W. McArthur. Other survivors include 6 grandchildren; James (Jim) Turner (Georgette), Melanie (MeMe) Hughes (David), Jennifer Oubre (Chris), Richard (Rich) Hewlett (Athena), Alex McArthur (Susan) and Hilary Hills (Eric). She had 14 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Family graveside service will be Saturday, January 9, 2021, 11:30am at Springhill Cemetery (Martinsville, MS). Stringer Funeral home of Hazlehurst is handling the arrangements.
